If you had told me twenty years ago I would be typing this mail to you Reader, I would not have believed it myself. But the fact that you are reading it means it happened πŸ˜† Today marks the day of my 20 years of entrepreneurial journey, 20 years of growth, resilience, and endless possibilities. πŸŽ‰

On 04/04/2004, I leaped into the world of entrepreneurship, starting with a simple request to work four days a week instead of five in my then-corporate job. I was ready to start my own company!

My journey commenced in 2004 with the start of Alia Vita, as a Wedding and Party Architect I had the opportunity to organize the most beautiful events and work with some awesome clients and companies. Yep, the first Wedding Planner in Belgium back then!

As the years unfolded, so did my ventures. In 2008, I ventured into e-commerce with Style Your Wedding and Style Your Party, revolutionizing the wedding and party industry with curated collections and innovative ideas.

The perfect combination between organizing weddings and selling the products! Just keep in mind that in 2008, setting up an e-commerce site was a bit more complicated than it is now πŸ˜†

Transitioning seamlessly, I ventured into setting up a hospitality business in 2015, my first (ad)venture in South Africa!

With each endeavor, I achieved success and perfected the art of adaptation. From orchestrating events to running online platforms and hospitality ventures, I showcased the boundless opportunities that await those willing to embrace change, no matter how scary it is!

Empowering Through Education

In 2017, I embarked on a new chapter by founding Saphire Blue Drone Training and Operations, a pioneering drone training school. This venture not only empowered individuals with technical skills but also symbolized my commitment to fostering innovation and growth. Going from a complete novice in the industry to one of the 20 examiners appointed by the South African Civil Aviation Authority.

Handing over the reins confidently to my dedicated team very soon, I proved that true leadership lies in enabling others to flourish.

A Beacon of Inspiration

In April 2018 I launched A Backyard Hiker, my coaching business guiding aspiring women entrepreneurs through their journey. Armed with a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for mentorship, I empower women to break free from the shackles of self-doubt and uncertainty.

Coaching and mentoring is a passion that fuels my soul and allows me to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. It's here to stay...

Charting New Horizons with Visionary Women

Now, I stand poised to embark on my most ambitious venture yet: Visionary Women. This initiative is not just another program; it's a movementβ€”a testament to the transformative power of female entrepreneurship. With Visionary Women, I seek to cultivate a community of empowered, visionary leaders who dare to dream big and defy convention.

If you find yourself at a crossroads, overwhelmed by the demands of entrepreneurship, take heart in my journey. My blueprint for success transcends industries, demonstrating that with determination and resilience, anything is possible. Embrace change, seize opportunities, and let your entrepreneurial spirit soar.

Being an entrepreneur, it's like being on a rollercoaster 🎒

Venturing into various business endeavors β€” from being a party and wedding architect to diving into e-commerce, hospitality, and even drone training has been a great adventure!

Each endeavor brought its own set of challenges and triumphs, and there were moments when I questioned my choices, wondering why I was making my life so difficult.

But, despite the challenges, there was also immense growth and fulfillment.

Today, as I reflect on these 20 years, I realize that every twist and turn in my journey has shaped me into the entrepreneur I am today.

A journey I could not have survived without the support of my husband - aka Bart, friends, family, and YOU Reader!

Yes, there were moments when I felt like throwing in the towel, but those moments also gave me clarity, resilience, and a deep sense of purpose. Now, firmly grounded, I know what I want and where I want to go.

I got a Vision, a Plan and celebrating my daily Wins!

Here's to 20 years of entrepreneurship, and many more years of growth, impact, and fulfillment. πŸš€πŸ’Ό

I feel I'm only just getting started 😊

Sending you some good vibes from South Africa, have a lovely week ahead!

I love challenges, that feeling of accomplishment, and the ticking of a box. That's me! It's just a way to motivate myself and embrace those small steps...

View in browser Don't you just love it Reader when people make something look very simple but more than often it is far from easy to get it done! Oh, Peggy, going for a 5K run, is very simple (advice from a marathon runner πŸ˜†), just put one foot in front of the other, do this at a faster speed than walking, and just as long until you get your 5K done πŸ˜‚ Until I put on my running shoes and hit that first uphill πŸ₯΅ It might be SIMPLE but NOT EASY! After the - it's simple for you to say - thought,...

View in browser I made a brave decision, I'm simplifying the ways to work with me and even while I'm typing this, it feels scary 😬 The fact that it scares me shows how engrained that having "more" is perceived as being better. I however know that this is the best way forward. Because the way it was going now was not contributing to my bigger vision. While I thought I was doing good, I was overcomplicating everything at the same time 🫣 So back to the drawing board it was! I reflected, slowed...
